(notes from your fearless editor)

This year's trade show was a little different for for me as it was the first year I worked as an exhibitor. Subsequently I was unable to really see many of the things that I wanted to get pictures of on Saturday, but I did manage to do a GREAT demo makeup at the Ice FX booth that nobody got decent pictures of ...(btw if you know of ANYBODY that did get some shots of my finished makeup on Saturday PLEASE have them email me... ) The highlight of Saturday came early on for me, when I had an impromptu breakfast with Dick Smith !! That made my whole weekend. He was quite nice, and we had very pleasant non-shop talk erm...talk. It made me MUCH less self-conscious about sending him pictures for acceptance to his Advanced Professional Makeup Course. The other highlight of the day was in seeing a Goth win the Avante Garde beauty contest. Its about time a freak was able to make a splash !!

Sunday proved to be much more interesting (from our standpoint) I had a chance to view both the Silicones Inc , and the Smooth On booths with a little more leisure. I also had the opportunity to talk with reps from both companies about materials that were coming out, which I will get up for review REALLY soon. Sunday also brought Matt Singer's Talk: Mission Impossible: Platinum Silicone Prosthetics On An Impossible Deadline this year's talk was just as entertaining as previous years. With everything that Matt indicated at the show, the packaging ALONE for his new platinum system is reason enough to pick it up. I did one more quickie demo for Ice FX, and the day concluded with some drinks and food at the afterglow. All in all a pretty good show, I'm just hoping that next year more of my 'net buddies will be able to make it. Some of you were REALLY missed =)

Sunday's demo by Kenny Myers and Matt Maitre blew me (and many other people for that matter) away

I got down and dirty at the ICEFX booth giving product demos Saturday and Sunday.

The New Baldies folks (who made a HUGE splash at this years trade show, as well as the London show) give a quick demo on how to make a VERY perfectly fitting baldcap

The Silicones Inc. Booth provided some interesting new materials, and really great conversation.
