Happy 2002!

I can a use year of no alarms, and no surprises after everything that happened in 2001.

But that was then and this is now, and there is lots in store over the next year. So lets get into it!

Tom McLaughlin's highly awaited upate of the bible of silicone is expected to be published this summer. (and he is going to give several of his "Silicone Arts" talks across the country... be on the look out here for more info as it becomes available.)

Many films are going to be released that will push the envelope of what has been, or could be done with these materials. Most interesting is "Blade 2" boasting a 40+ piece make-up that I will try to get some pictures of closer to the films release.

Also of interest is the first European Make-up trade show. I'm going to be there and if you would like to meet up either before or after the show feel free to send an email my way. I should be pretty easy to spot since I will be the only person there in a replicants.org shirt (unless of course you would like to order one... which you can do for $15.00 including shipping... email me at the above address for more information. I'll have pictures up of the shirt REALLY soon)

And now to let you know what's in store for the site...

Lots more interviews, featured artists, and how-to tutorials that should help beginners get a better grasp on how to do what it is we do. (speaking of the how to's... this months is going to be a bit late due to the holidays... but I'll make up for it's tardiness with a really cool surprise <it's especially cool if you ARE a "Blade Runner" fan.> Also of note is the new sister site that we will be launching in late february,"Electric Sh33p." This is going to be a supplement that covers all of the cool stuff that that doesn't really fit under the Replicants banner. Expect interviews with artists, cd and dvd reviews, hardware reviews and other cool assorted stuff.

As always, if you would like to be the featured Artist, need more information on something you read here, or would like to ask what possessed me to dye my hair blue again, feel free to drop me a line

Take care, and Happy New Years!

aRvin Clay
